We are all on a spiritual journey. It starts when we come out of mothers’s wombs and let out our piercing cries. As infants in the wombs, we were safe and closest to God than we can ever be here on earth.
I remember seeking God as a young teen in my bedroom. I prayed and worshiped in my dark room late one night. God entered and sat down with me. We communed and His love enveloped me with sweetness I can not begin to explain. This communion lasted months in the midnight hours of one summer, but then I stop seeking that special time with Him. It happened gradually through the years. I got too busy and overwhelmed with day to day living.
Now, I want that intimacy with Him. I crave it and need it as much I need oxygen. How do I make the journey back to Him? Where will the journey lead me? What will I learn?
Welcome to my 31 Days October Blogging Challenge Series. What is the challenge all about? 31 Days is an online writing challenge started by home blogger, Myquillyn Smith (The Nester), and now hosted by Crystal Stine, where bloggers pick one topic and write a post on that topic every day in October. I am also joining my friend Kate Motaung and my friends from the Five Minute Friday community during this challenge. Kate worked with community bloggers to develop the 2015 edition of 31 Days of Five Minute Free Writes, Readers’ Choice Awards, a writing link-up in conjunction with the annual Write 31 Days Challenge. For the five minute, free write sessions, Kate encouraged bloggers to submit ideas for one-word prompts for each day of the challenge.
For the next 31 days, I will use the prompts as catalyst and inspiration for my own spiritual journey as I seek to draw closer to my beloved, Jesus. I want to walk with Him and feel His holy breath as He breathes on me. I desire to climb to new heights with Him. I want to reach the lost, the tired, the sick, the abused, and the sinner with His message of hope. I want to convince the skeptic that He is real and that He is our best hope. Will you join me? Here are my prompts:

This sounds like a fun writing challenge. While I could start today, I have items which need to be completed. I will add this to my blog editorial calendar for next year. I think five minute free write sessions would be a blast! ~Adrienne

I did 31 days last year and really enjoyed it. This year I’ve got to much going on to bite into that challenge. I’m pretty sure it would send me off the deep end! I loved seeing how God filled in each day. Blessings!
