My focus shifts a lot during Christmas and sometimes it is hard to find balance. This weekend we scurried to find Christmas presents for our loved ones. I decorated the tree and time flew.
We had to slow down some on Sunday because of frigid weather that brought a morning sleet shower. We did not get much but the roads iced causing our church to cancel services.
I watched the sleet turn to rain. The world seemed so quiet and I found a spot to breathe and reflect.
Christmas brought balance back to a lost world. Jesus came to die for our sins so that we would find forgiveness and eternity instead of hell and evil. He defeated Satan’s evil plans to cause the ultimate fall of mankind.
I wrote this post for the Five Minute Friday community where this week’s word prompt is balance and to continue my my yearly Advent series where I reflect on the true meaning of the Christmas season.
Now on to our weekly linkup. First, please follow me on your social media. I love to hear from you:

Advent is one of my most fave seasons in the church year.
Tara, it is mine too. Thanks for stopping by.
Balance is often so hard to find during this season. So ironic. It’s the very season that God came to skew things in our favor!
Lisa, I know. We get so busy that we can lose sight for the reason for the season. Thanks for commenting.

I’m glad you found a small respite in your usual busy holiday schedule, Mary! Sometimes we all need a breather and time spent meditating on God and family. Thanks for the linkup! Pinned your top image!
Sleet and freezing rain – yuck! It was a good thing you slowed down and took it easy! Maybe that’s what you were supposed to do all along! 🙂

Ahhh…balance. Sometimes it seems so illusive. I love when God sets it in place for us and reminds us to shift our focus.
Thanks for the linkup love too!
Yes, I am so thankful for the moments that He brings to listen and find His balance in the midst of the world’s craziness! I am glad that you all are safe after this weekend’s storms! Blessings to you.
God is good to provide pockets of quietness in which to reset our thinking.

I heard reports of the inclement weather down your way. Glad you slowed down and stayed safe. Sometimes those storms are just what we need to settle us down in this frenzied season.
