Welcome back to the #LMMLinkup for the first Monday in February. I start my post this week with a continuation of my blog series for the Write 28 Days Challenge. Today’s word: Simmer.
Finding Warmth of Simmer in Winter
My meditation of him shall be sweet: I will be glad in the LORD.
During the cold winter days, nothing is more satisfying and comforting than a warm soup that you simmer on the stove for hours. I find comfort in a chicken stew, chilis, delicious pot pies, and potato chowders. These soups warm the soul and bring joy to the day with rich spices and delicious meats. Other comfort foods for the winter month can include hot blueberry muffins with warm honey butter.
When the frost covers the ground, I love to drink a simmering hot tea or cocoa and delve into a Bible study and find the warmth found there. It seems when the cold keeps us inside, we can find more time to spend with Him which is the real magic that I find in the winter months.
The Holy Spirit can be as delicious as a warm stew with delicate meats melting in your mouth. His love can spread through my heart like warm cocoa.
As mentioned briefly in the introduction above, this post is written for the Anita Ojeda’s Write 28 Days Challenge for February 2019. My Favorite Post
Forgiveness has been on my mind a lot, especially as move forward with my winter devotions. Forgiveness holds me back in so many areas; so this post was a godsend. I highly recommend it.
