Philippians 4:19
But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus.
I had lost my job, but I resolved I would not lose my faith. This test would not defeat me. Just a few years later, another time of darkness descended on my life as my marriage dissolved. Platitudes seemed useless. I knew my world crashed around me, and I saw no rescue in sight. This time, I felt I had been tested beyond my endurance to survive.
I cried out and quoted 1 Corinthians 10:13 over and over again in my mind throughout that time:
“No testing has overtaken you except ordinary testing. But God is faithful. He will not allow you to be tested beyond your ability, but when he tests you, he will also bring about the outcome that you are able to bear it.”
Each time, I faced tests that seemed unsurvivable, God provided and comforted me. He never left me destitute or alone. I walked through many trials of fire in the past four decades, but God’s faithfulness never failed. I face financial worries that seemed impossible. I suffered through times of illness and pain.
Even amid all testing, God’s presence shines, and He provides just what I need to overcome and push through. Time and time again, through storm after storm, my God provides my need. He is my Jehovah Jireh.
What tests do you face today? What need do you have? God is your answer! He will see you through.
