Each year, a challenge is issued to write more, blog more, and join together as a community.
The Five Minute Friday community joins an international challenge to Write 31 Days on topics that impacts women worldwide.
As part of the challenge, the Five Minute Friday community writes on a prompt daily that inspires many to write from their heart and share their poetic words. The prompts were compiled by our leader Kate Motaung.
This month, I am accepting the challenge and each day this week, I will work toward fulfilling the challenge.
The first part of my accepting the challenge, involves designing a unique graphic for my series. Next, I integrate the words into a meaningful theme. Then, with prayer and study, I apply spiritual and Biblical verses to bring out the personal meaning of the words to me. As I ponder each word, I embark on a poetical and prose writing journey.
I hope you will join me. What I uncover as I travel this road will bring renewal and spiritual meaning to my life and hopefully yours as well.
Are you up to the challenge too? We welcome all Write 31 Days posts. Be sure to link up with us so that we can support you too on your writing journey.

Last Week’s Top Clicked Post!

My Favorite Post of the Week
Isn’t This the Point?
I choose Nylse’s post this week because is analogous to the spiritual life of a Christian writer. As writers for Christ, we need to train and hon our spiritual craft. Writing well involves practice and pumping our prose and poetic muscles. To write in ways that influence and inspire others using our unique voice, we must practice and well, write. We have to study the craft through reading other writers and applying what we learned to our own writing exercises.
That is why I like writing challenges such as Write 31 Days and the FMF 31 Days of Five Minute Writes. These challenges can inspire and reinvigorate out writing lives if we use them as personal writing revivals. We can grow spiritually and closer to God by writing for Him in our own personal ministries.
I love the verse Nylse shares in post:
…Instead, train yourself to be godly. “Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” This is a trustworthy saying, and everyone should accept it. This is why we work hard and continue to struggle, for our hope is in the living God, who is the Savior of all people and particularly of all believers. 1 Timothy 4:8-10
As writers, we can work hard and struggle to fulfill our hope in Christ.

Mary, I have contemplated a writing challenge, but I don’t think it’s the right timing for me. But I admire those of you who do. Praying it will be a blessing to all who take part. Thanks so much for hosting.

Hmmm…I’ve participated in the 31 Days Challenge for several years — and even picked out my topic for this year while writing last year’s posts, but just the other day, I decided not to do it, since it has involved so much extra stress for me in the past. But after reading about this 5-minute idea…you’ve got my wheels turning!

Mary,
You go, girl! I am impressed. I am praying for your success right now as I send this out to you. I am still working on getting a post out a week so I can’t imagine writing every single day. I know it would be good for me but I am not quite at the point where I could do it. I admire you for doing it. I like the topics too.

Thanks for highlighting my post and the kind words, Mary and friends! And I have always been intrigued by the 31 day blogging challenge but never feel as if I have the time to devote to it. I have a hard enough time getting two posts on my blog each week (which I don’t always do!). So more power to you and all who are participating and I hope it brings a lot of new readers to your sites. Thanks for the linkup!

I’ve enjoyed doing #Write31Days in the past, but so far I don’t have anything on my heart to write about this time. That may be just as well – we’re coming off a busy season with surgery and a lot of family activities, so I am looking forward to October as a restful spot before the holidays in November and December. But I do enjoy following along as I can.

I don’t know if I could do 31 days in a row – but it sounds decadently delightful to try!
That is what I love about the #FMF challenge. You can springboard quickly into the challenge and write faithfully.
