#LMMLinkup: Facing The Question Should I

May 8, 2017 By Mary Hill 16 Comments

Welcome back to the #LMMLinkup for the week of May 8th.

This week, I want to spend five minutes writing about the word should as part of the Five Minute Friday weekly writing challenge. Learn more here.

I love the Five Minute Friday community and I really encourage you to check it out if you have not already done so. We are writing on the word “Should.”

Should I

We all face a wall of should at some point in our lives. Should I have said that. Should I have done that?

Then we face the guilt if we chose the wrong path or made the wrong decision.

Our should turns in to I should have not gone down that road. I should never have hurt that person so badly.

What I love the most about our community at the #LMMLinkup is we find hope and encouragement to face our should’s. My favorite post this week really addressed “should.” When it comes time, we should forgive ourselves and others for our wrongs decisions. We should remember that we are all human and there is only one perfect: Our Holy Savior.

We should turn to Him in our times of doubt, worry, and pain. He will deliver us.

I hope this message encourages you this week. Be sure to let us know how we can pray for you in the comments section below.

Now let’s

  1. Include a link back or the blog hop button linked to this hop on your posts.
  2. Link up the urls to your posts not to your blog.
  3. Please remember this is a family-friendly linkup. Although we believe in the right for adults to read whatever they want to read, we prefer to read wholesome posts that feature literature that edify and uplift families. We reserve the right to delete any posts that are not family friendly. We love all kinds of literature and genres including family-friendly inspirational romances, fantasy, or science fiction. We do not welcome any posts that feature excessive violence, sexual content, or any cursing. This rule also applies to book review posts that feature books that are not family-friendly. These posts will be deleted without notice to the blogger or explanation. While we believe in the right for all adults to read whatever they want, we feel our linkup is for family-friendly posts only. Thank you for understanding.
  4. We also want to be loving community by supporting one another. Please make a point to do this this week! Visit the two posts before yours and at least one other blogger’s post of your choice! Forgiving ourselves is sometimes the most difficult thing we can do! It’s also all too easy to get sucked into shaming ourselves with our shoulds :/.

Good thoughts. Our lives are so full of “shoulds” and “should not haves.” Some we need to follow up on, some we need to seek forgiveness for. Thankfully our gracious God gives us wisdom and extends grace.
