Welcome back to the #LMMLinkup where this week we focus on the value of play in a creative essay written for the Five Minute Friday community. I hope you enjoy.
Children’s laughter, exploration, dreaming, and growing.
We see them in fairy costumes, prancing around as princesses, cowgirls, astronauts, scientists and meteorologist. Each playful activity building their world toward adulthood.
They practice their futures in make believe. Will they become doctors or defenders of justice?
Play opens worlds of imagination on par with reading, writing, and learning.
Do you hear the magic and see the inspiration of future possibilities in each giggle and smile.
My grandson plays at becoming a whale biologist. He draws his future with each whale picture that captures whales of all kinds: his favorite the blue whale.
My daughter looks at the sky with excitement as she observes storm clouds forming, pretending to chase tornadoes.
How do your children envision their futures through play?
Last Week’s Top Clicked Post!
I really agreed with Maree Dee in her post about Dispelling The Myths About Perfection which was our most clicked this week. She outlines who a real perfectionist is and brings home an important point: “a person striving for perfection is doing so because they do not feel perfect on the inside.” This post is part of an ongoing series. My Favorite Post of the Week
I love the simplicity of this post by my friend Gayl Wright. She captures the magic of summertime at the beach with beloved family members. It is inspiring read.
