Last week, I briefly wrote about getting ready for 2019. I usually select a word on which to base my year. Last year, I selected breakthrough. I do not feel like I broke through in any arena in 2018.
I have decided to continue with breakthrough as my One Word for 2019. I don’t feel like God has released me from this word yet. What areas do I want to breakthrough:writing and blogging goals; my health and weight; spiritual development; and improving relationships with family.
I believe have a word to focus on becomes like a mission statement for the year. I want to breakthrough for God on so many fronts. I will try to also focus my blog post on these areas throughout 2019. I hope you will visit often for new content.
What is your One Word for 2019? Have you selected one or you just making resolutions? What is your advice in picking a word for the New Year. Please be sure to leave us a comment.
Thanks and God Bless.

What a wonderful word! I pray the Lord will give you breakthroughs again and again, Mary. My word this year is hope.
Lisa,
Thank you so much for your kind thoughts.

Hi Mary,
Until last year I hadn’t had a one word focus but have aims for the year rather than resolutions, much easier to work towards!
But last year the word “Majestical” kept coming up so that was the focus. He definitely revealed so many majestical blessings on a daily basis.
I prayed whether He had a word this year & “Grace” keeps coming to mind so I believe that is the focus for 2019 😀 exciting & daunting all in one!
Blessings,
Jennifer

I will pray for you that your word focus brings blessings and answers for the New Year.

I didn’t choose a word last year, nor have I chosen one this year…although I am trying to be more intentional about accomplishing goals and forming new habits, so maybe my unofficial word would be ‘intentional.’ 😉 I love that you continue to persue your word this year. Bravo!
Anita,
Thanks I felt I had not finished with that word yet. Or God hadn’t finished it in me. I hope you meet all your goals for the year.

Breakthrough is a fantastic word. Many time I repeat my word. I didn’t quite do my word last year either. Mine was Joy and Happiness. I didn’t add enough of it to my life.
I haven’t quite figured out my word for this year but looking at “Letting Go” and “Balance” which of course would allow me to add more joy and happiness.
Thank you for your link-up. I love visiting here each week.

Maree,
Great words. Praying for you as you being the New Year.

Mary, you sure did have a rough year last year, but you trusted God no matter what happened and that’s a good thing. I like how you want to continue your word. My word sort of springs out of the word I had last year, which was hygge. This year it is joy with a secondary word of home – because I need to find joy at home first. Blessings and love to you! xo
I look forward to reading more about what God shows you in “breakthrough”. I am not doing a word, but a verse. 2 Tim 4:5
Dear Mary,
I am blessed to know that God is continuing to carry you through to His breakthroughs. You are an encouragement here as you share with all of us the ways that the Lord is helping you walk through difficult days. May you feel His blessing upon you!
Breakthrough is a great word to focus on. I will be praying for you to achieve your breakthrough this year. My word is “balance”.

I usually focus on a verse for the year, but I haven’t really chosen one yet. It’s been such a busy holiday season (2 weddings in the mix) that I don’t feel like I’ve had time to really think too much about the year ahead. Thanks for hosting and reminding me that it’s something I should do.

Breakthrough is a great word for the year! My word for 2019 is Truth. My main advice in choosing a word for the year would be to pray about it. Sometimes I have no idea why I’m drawn to a particular word but then at the end of the year I can look back and see how God has used it.
May God give you a breakthrough in every area this year!
I’m honored to have had the top-clicked post last week, and I hope what was said there was helpful to folks.

I love how you are listening to your spirit and sticking with “breakthrough.” God has good things planned, and heeding His will over the calendar pages is such an important thing. So keep going friend! Praying for BREAKTHROUGH today!
