We build many things in our lives. We build community. We build families. We build homes and churches.
Sometimes the building involves brick and mortar; sometimes it involves less tangible things like connections and value.
Building takes time and effort, especially in the cold winter months when more care must be taken to dry in the materials and protect the site from the winter cold and elements.
Building friendships and community is the same way. We must foster connections with care and effort. Taking care to reach out and listen when our friends need us to help. It means not giving up on each other and caring for each other in good and bad times such as bringing soup or support when your friend is ill or having trials. Celebrating with them when they are successful and making strides.
What are your building in your life today?

The Wonder of Worship
by
In this special guest post on Dr. Michelle Bengtson’s blog, Scott outlines what true worship looks like. He emphasizes that worship is not something that we have to do, but something that should come from love. It is a beautiful post.

Now, it is time to link up to the Literacy Musing Mondays hop!

Linkup Rules:
- Include a link back or the blog hop button linked to this hop on your posts.
- Link up the urls to your posts not to your blog.
- Please remember this is a family-friendly linkup. Although we believe in the right for adults to read whatever they want to read, we prefer to read wholesome posts that feature literature that edify and uplift families. We reserve the right to delete any posts that are not family friendly. We love all kinds of literature and genres including family-friendly inspirational romances, fantasy, or science fiction. We do not welcome any posts that feature excessive violence, sexual content, or any cursing. This rule also applies to book review posts that feature books that are not family-friendly. These posts will be deleted without notice to the blogger or explanation. While we believe in the right for all adults to read whatever they want, we feel our linkup is for family-friendly posts only. Thank you for understanding.
- We also want to be loving community by supporting one another. Please make a point to do this this week! Visit the two posts before yours and at least one other blogger’s post of your choice! I want to see lots of clicks on everyone’s posts. Remember it is also nice to follow them on their social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook.
- Also note periodically I will send everybody updates on the linkup using your contact information you provided when you linked up. At the bottom of the notifications you will be able to unsubscribe if you do not wish to receive these notifications.
- Tweet about the link up too.

The older I get the more value I see in building good friendships and doing the hard work of building a church community.
Building community is so important 😀

I am cultivating some new friendships in a new area where I spend 1/2 the year. I am also attempting to build a leadership team who will be able to carry on a ministry we started.

I’ve been cultivating building a relationship with my granddaughter. She’s only 1 but every visit counts. 🙂 Thanks for sharing my last week’s post, Mary. Now I’m off to read Michelle’s post on worship!
Yes, I think building anything worthwhile can be hard work, but it is worth the time and effort!

Good reminders. Often much of what we build is unseen, but exceedingly important.

We’re coming off a weekend of big family togetherness–lots of meals and gatherings, so I’m soaked in thankfulness for the family God has helped us to build, for the relationships that have become even more precious as the years go by.
