First Scrimmage Little League Game

March 14, 2016 By Mary Hill 4 Comments

Fun Books for Little League baseball lovers

Do you have an inspiring, little slugger in the family playing in Little League? I highly recommend these special baseball stories written by Kevin Christofora and illustrated by Dale Tangeman. (*affiliate link)

My grandson, who is 5, swung his bat with joy, laughing as it connected with the ball.  He played his first Little League scrimmage game with joy.

He then preceded to run when his coach yelled, “Run, J!” The only problem instead of running to first base he ran out to left field. The coach ran after him, and he mistakenly thought the coach and he were playing a game so he ran away from him, laughing the whole time.

Later, he sat on the field drawing in the dirt.

Little League Baseball is Time for Fun

Little League is such a fun time for children.

I feel sad for kids whose parents take things to seriously and seem embarrassed when their children doesn’t perform like they expected them too.

They yell watch the ball, catch the ball. Run.  They are too serious and take the fun out of the game.

I enjoyed watching my grandson, laugh and play.  The onlookers laughed with him as he giggled and ran around in the outfield thinking the coachers chased him as if in a game of tag.

[tweetthis twitter_handles=”@MaryHill16″]Relax and have fun. Little League is about learning the basics and learning to enjoy playing games.[/tweetthis]

What a fun time for kids, even if they are still learning the rules of the game.

So glad your grandson is having such a positive little league experience. It truly should be about the fun. What a riot that he headed for left field. Giggling as I think about it.
