H is For Holes

Life’s battles can leave huge gaping holes and wounds in a person’s soul. I learned this truth first-hand this week as I watched sin and ugliness of people try to destroy a family member.
That family member, however, clings tightly to his faith. I am amazed because no matter what they say, he knows Jesus will care for him this storm too.
I faced my own abuse and wounding, filling my soul with large holes as well more than 16 years ago. God saw me through and gave me a wonderful husband and family. He will see us through these tough times too.
Satan does his best, walking about roaring like a lion, seeking whom he can destroy.
In our own weakness and sin sometimes we are guilty of giving him the ammo; other times, however, we are guiltless.
God’s love is strong in either case. He forgives and He protects His children. He tells those without sin to cast the first stone, and He reminds us of Job whom loved Him and was tried because of His righteousness.
Maybe you are going through a tough time tonight. Your soul bleeds because of the huge wounds and holes life gouged into it? Even Christians add to the fray and slash at you, hurting you even deeper.
[tweetthis twitter_handles=”@Maryandering”]Hope is around the corner. Hope is real. Hope loves and conquers all.[/tweetthis]
Hope is the beautiful cousin of faith. Her love shines through any situation. Just follow the sun light of hope out of darkness to where your Savior awaits.
If you can’t find your way because it is too dark; hold on. He rescues you when you just call out His name. He reaches His hand down and pulls you up. Lifts you up.
He will give your comfort in your darkest hour.
[tweetthis twitter_handles=”@Maryandering”]He will make you whole again. He will bind up the wounds in your life and fill in the holes.[/tweetthis]
At the same time, to those that wound and cut to the quick; who slash at the Christian and hurt out of self-righteousness or hate, God will forgive you too. Just repent and accept His love.
Don’t let hate reign in your own life. You only hurt yourself in the long run.
Let God rescue you too. He loves you and He waits for you to come home to Him and just love one another as Jesus loved and died for the church.
Needless to say, something has happened in my own family this week that has cut me to the core.
I hang tight to Jesus though. He is my Rock. My Fortress. My sure defence.
I pray for my family members that God will bind them and protect them, especially the little one who did not deserve any of what is happening. I lift them up to God and pray He helps them tonight.
If you are in a church, please love one another. Please don’t knock each other down. Please look after each in love and truth. Don’t be quick to judge. Don’t give into falsehoods. Don’t tell falsehoods. Don’t spread evil rumors.
Spread hope, love, and mercy. Remember how you would want to be treated if the shoe was on the other foot. Remember the mercy God has shown us all when we sinned. Be merciful and show the love of Christ to those suffering a tough time.
I praise Jesus who fills the holes in my life and continues to make me whole.

What a great post. I so needed these words after losing my mom just two months ago. But God is so faithful in filling the holes in our souls and making us whole again. Visiting from #RaRaLinkup
Laura, so sorry for your loss. I lost my dad almost 18 years ago. It is hard to lose a parent. I am so honored you were helped by my post.

I am a staunch believer and I cannot agree more!
As a Christian and pastor’s wife, I appreciate your heart’s desire to call others to love one another in the church! I pray that your family will experience deep healing…
He does, doesn’t He? I’m not sure where I’d be but for grace.
I agree with you God’s love is strong. Inspiring post !!!

Oh yes, I can relate. I had holes in my spirit and I almost convinced myself that they would simply become a permanent part of me, to carry around. But our Lord pursued me! He is Healer and Comforter. We can’t erase the past, but with His help, we can definitely overcome the hurts! Thank you, lovely post!
thanks so much for your encouraging words. You really uplifted me today. I am so glad we found a Lord who pursues and loves us!!

Mary, thank you for your encouraging post. It is true, as you said, “Life’s battles can leave huge gaping holes and wounds in a person’s soul.” Thankfully, as you also highlight, that does not have to be the end of our stories because of our loving God who, if we allow Him to do so, can heal us completely and use us to touch the lives of others in healing ways. Blessings. Visiting from FMF.
