Welcome back to Literacy Musing Mondays. This week we are talking genres.
I recently read Mars . . . with Venus Rising (affiliate link) by Hope Toler Dougherty. I received a free copy from Litfuse Publicity. It is an Inspirational Romance book. I normally do not like the romance genre, but this book seemed interesting so I signed up for the launch team. It has a poignant premise. What if you lost everyone you love in a terrible plane crash. You fear flying and your life’s on hold because you can’t seem to get passed the trauma. A wonderful man comes into your life. He is sweet, supportive, and endearing, but he happens to work as a pilot. You can read my complete book review here.
My favorite fiction genre is suspense mystery. I love these authors: Terri Blackstock and Lisa Scottoline. An author on my to-be-read list is Lynette Eason.
Now it is your turn. What is your favorite genre of book? What books do you highly recommend we read as the summer months approach. Please share in the comments section or link up your favorite book reviews of all time in this week’s linkup. I can’t wait for our lively book discussion to commence!
Please note the affiliate links above. If you purchase, I will receive a portion of the sale. 😉 I use the funds to pay blogging expenses and for prizes for my readers.
Now on to our weekly Literacy Musing Monday’s linkup. First let’s

One of the most encouraging bloggers that I read regularly, Ifeoma inspires you with hope and love-filled writing. Her advice of speaking God’s word into the circumstances in our life came in a timely fashion for me. I hope this post blesses you as much as it blessed me!

I am a big fan lately of novels that explore Christians’ responsibility to care for the earth responsibly. My two favorite authors of that genre are Chautona Havig and Valerie Comer. Thank you for being a part of Booknificent Thursday this week.

Dear Mary,
Your website is addicting to me, and reading your posts is one of my favorite leisure time activities; therefore, allow me to nominate you for the Liebster award.
Treasuring My First Liebster Award
Hoping that you would accept it.
Love,

Mary, I read mostly non-fiction books and I love biographies. But I do enjoy a good novel from time to time. One of my favorites is the Mark of the Lion series by Francine Rivers. It’s a little gritty as Christian fiction goes, but with a purpose. If someone enjoys historical novels, they will find the books hard to put down.
Thanks for hosting each week.

Fiction is my favorite too but I look out for stories inspired by true events or something that I can relate to either from knowledge or experience.

Hello! Thank you again for hosting this wonderful link-up.
I feel badly about this, but on my 12 Sizzling Teen Series post, I’m going to need to add link-up info to the comments. Before going live, I was having technical issues with a Rafflecopter giveaway that we have underway. I finally got it to cooperate, but now I’m worried that if I edit my post, the giveaway will vanish again. Apologies. I’ll be sure to visit twice as many blogs this week. 😀
Thank you again!
-Sarah
Thanks Sarah. I hope you work out the gliches. 🙂

That sounds like a great book, Mary! I normally don’t like the romance genre too much either. I like Christian parenting books and historical fiction. Thanks for hosting! Hope you have a wonderful week 🙂
