#LMMLinkup: Great Spring Reading

March 19, 2018 By Mary Hill 27 Comments

Welcome back to the #LMMLinkup this week.  Reading takes my mind off the problems swirling in my soul.  My family dealt with health issues this winter that with the Spring seem to be clearing up, finally.

Through it all God has been so faithful. It seems that the books sent my way this Spring have helped a great deal with the stress and helped build my faith.

A Place to Land, Great Spring Reading One book that has really blessed me is Kate Motaung’s A Place to Land. I will write a complete review on it this week. Her story sung to me off the pages and made me yearn to join her on the mission field. She recounted her struggles with eloquence and poetry. I amazed at how she loved spreading the Gospel with all her heart in South Africa and even met the love of her life. I don’t want to give away my whole review today though. I will save it for later.

I guarantee after reading the first chapter you will be hooked and will want to head on over to Amazon to purchase your own copy.” On Kate’s page today, you can sign up to read the first chapter of this book for free and read it for yourself.

This post speaks to the dry, thirsty times in our lives when we feel parched of the Holy Spirit. Rebecca brings home the message that all we need to do is pray for His wind and watering in our lives and He will deliver.  Be sure to check out this great post.

My Favorite Post of the Week

Dotted Lines – The Treasure Hunt to Find God in My Every Day

By JD Lana at Dotted Lines

JD really blessed me with this post. I felt like I found kinship with her in where I am at in my personal Christian walk as I seek to discover the next steps in what God has planned for the rest of my life. I really encourage you to read this post because of the depth it shared in going beyond “the usual Sunday school lessons.” I also really loved the two verses that she shared which helped uplift her faith. The verses brought about a new understanding of faith for me too.

Sorry to hear your family dealt with some health issues this winter, but happy that you are on the mend. I’ve been in the same boat. Just getting over a flu-like illness that might have been the sickest I’ve ever been in my life.

I agree with you that reading can transport us away from our troubles. Thanks for sharing what look like great reads.

And as always, thanks for hosting Literacy Musing Monday’s link-up

I LOVED Kate’s book! It was cool to read a different perspective about long-distance caregiving and just how difficult it was.
