This weekend I spent time in Greenville celebrating 16 years of marriage. I took the pictures above in the Fall Springs Park. As I walked enjoying the beauty of the spring flowers, scriptures came to mind.
Do Not Worry
Matthew 6:25-34
25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? 26 Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? 27 Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?
28 “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. 29 Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. 30 If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? 31 So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ 32 For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. 33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. 34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
The beautiful array of flowers brought comfort to my mind. Spring always reminds me that God is amazing. He created our beautiful world and He provides for me. He will provide for you too.
I hope this reminder blessed you today.

Too tired to fight
By JD at Dotted Lines

JD wrote these lines in this post that struck so close to my heart:
“While our times in the heat of battle are good for instruction and growth in our own lives, it’s not always about us. What God is doing in and through our struggles is often for the instruction, edification and evangelism of the rest of the world.”
I also love this scripture that she shared:
2 Corinthians 4:6-7 (ESV)
“For God, who said, ‘Let light shine out of darkness,’ has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ. But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us.”
I will leave it at these wonderful quotes. To fully fill the impact of this post, you will need to read it.

Ahh! I love seeing spring flowers (although we don’t get too many here in the desert). But they comfort me, nonetheless–if flowers can thrive in a dry area, I can thrive where God plants me, too!

I find it easy to see God in the springtime as well. So much new growth and bright colors! The challenge is to still see him as clearly in the dead of winter. 🙂 But hopefully we won’t have to deal with that again until another 7 months or so!

Happy Anniversary! That looks like such a beautiful place to enjoy your weekend. I am so happy to see the spring flowers there, because it means we will eventually have some here farther north also. Happy anniversary! I lived in Greenville for 14 years when we were first married – it’s still one of my favorite places. Beautiful flowers, and a needed reminder that the God who created them is worthy of our trust.

It’s so wonderful that God has created flowers and then given us words through His Son that turn the gorgeous blooms into icons of His glorious care and provision for us!
Congratulations on your anniversary!
