#LMMLinkup: Technology Challenges and Faith

July 30, 2018 By Mary Hill 11 Comments

I really have had technical glitches this weekend. I felt like I would not be able to put together this week’s linkup.

This weekend, my computer failed, and I struggled with a learning curve on my new computer. I had problems with formatting and integrating pictures today; so I hope this post turns out okay.

All the struggle served as a reminder that we have to cling to faith and trust in God.  Marriage woes; parenting issues; and failed technology can wear us down; but we have a God who is in control.

What issues are you facing this week? Please share in the comments below.

Now on to our weekly linkup. First let’s meet your hosts:

23 Extraordinary Life Skills to Pass on to Your Children

By Tehila at Women Abiding

This list is chalk full of inspiration.  Tehila divided these important skills into three realms: spiritual, sensible, and social. The spiritual skills she recommends that we pass on to our children really touched me. I hope you will enjoy this post.

Now, it is time to link up to the Literacy Musing Mondays hop!

Linkup Rules:

  1. Include a link back or the blog hop button linked to this hop on your posts.
  2. Link up the urls to your posts not to your blog.
  3. Please remember this is a family-friendly linkup. Although we believe in the right for adults to read whatever they want to read, we prefer to read wholesome posts that feature literature that edify and uplift families. We reserve the right to delete any posts that are not family friendly. We love all kinds of literature and genres including family-friendly inspirational romances, fantasy, or science fiction. We do not welcome any posts that feature excessive violence, sexual content, or any cursing. This rule also applies to book review posts that feature books that are not family-friendly. These posts will be deleted without notice to the blogger or explanation. While we believe in the right for all adults to read whatever they want, we feel our linkup is for family-friendly posts only. Thank you for understanding.
  4. We also want to be loving community by supporting one another. Please make a point to do this this week! Visit the two posts before yours and at least one other blogger’s post of your choice! I want to see lots of clicks on everyone’s posts. Remember it is also nice to follow them on their social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook.
  5. Also note periodically I will send everybody updates on the linkup using your contact information you provided when you linked up. At the bottom of the notifications you will be able to unsubscribe if you do not wish to receive these notifications.
  6. Tweet about the link up too.

Mary, I sympathize with your technical difficulties this week. I have had my share, dare I say more than my share, since installing a new theme. Mostly a learning curve but a more powerful theme required more powerful everything. So lots of glitches. Praying that yours get ironed out quickly. Thanks for hosting and blessings!

Oh Mary, I almost didn’t read your post. I despise technology issues. I felt stressed just looking at the picture. The post looks great. Thank you for working through them.

I have many frustrations this week. One of which is technology. My computer is in the shop and I am working on my old computer. I keep finding myself missing things. Yes, I did back up my old one but it seems to complicated to retrieve the data.

    Blessings to you,

The biggest issue I’m facing this week is frustration with my uncooperative body!

Sometimes, mine is slow, Pinterest acts up, I still have things to learn about blogging.

I’m having technological issues, too – mainly the computer freezing up mid-project, then having to forcibly restart the computer. My son is coming home in a few weeks, so I am praying nothing crashes before he can take a look at it.

And I have had “one of those mornings” today where almost nothing has gone the way it was “supposed” to, and here it is lunchtime and I don’t have my Monday post up yet. Other things have come up, and when I have had a chance to write, my brain just was not clicking. I need to make a list of a few old posts to rerun when that happens. The hardest part is, I have two ideas for a post and can’t figure out which one to go with – but neither of them are coming together.

For me, in some ways it’s harder to trust God for the everyday frustrations than with the big trials of life. We almost can’t help but trust Him for the big things – we know they’re beyond us, and that He allowed them for a reason, and He’s the only one who has the wisdom and power to deal with them. But today is proof that those things are true of the “little” problems as well.

Hope your tech glitches work out and God gives grace, wisdom, and strength for the other issues as well.

Technology is a continual challenge for me, and here on this country hill, internet is spotty and unreliable (not unlike my brain these days!).
    Persevering alongside you, Mary!
